Support and privacy information for T Routes
Effective date: August 24, 2026
T Routes is developed and operated by Adam Post. This policy explains how T Routes handles information when you use the app.
T Routes does not operate a backend service and does not collect analytics, advertising data, or tracking data. The developer does not receive your location, saved routes, saved stops, API key, or app activity.
With your permission, T Routes uses precise location to:
Location is processed on your device. T Routes does not send your location to the developer or to the MBTA, and it does not maintain a location-history database.
You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings. Features that depend on location will no longer work until access is restored.
During an active journey, T Routes may process device motion data to help recognize transit movement where GPS is unreliable. Motion data is processed on your device and is not sent to the developer or the MBTA.
T Routes stores the following information locally to provide its features:
This information is not uploaded to the developer. You can remove routes, stops, pins, and your API key from within the app. Uninstalling T Routes removes its locally stored app data from your device.
T Routes connects directly to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) API to request transit information such as predictions, schedules, routes, stops, trips, and vehicle positions.
These requests may include transit identifiers and, if you provide one, your MBTA developer API key. They do not include your GPS location. Like other internet services, the MBTA may receive network information such as your IP address and may handle request data according to its own policies.
T Routes is not affiliated with or endorsed by the MBTA. You can review the MBTA Privacy Policy.
If you contact the developer by email, the information you choose to provide, including your email address, will be used only to respond to your request. You may request deletion of those communications by contacting the developer.
T Routes is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
T Routes minimizes privacy risk by keeping app data on your device and operating without a developer-controlled backend. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
This policy may be updated as T Routes changes. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
